When the STAR members were told about credit unions being included in the Finance Reform Bill, they sprung into action. STAR members are grateful that credit unions are able to provide programs like STAR to the community, reaching beyond basic services for their members and creating opportunities for those who did not know they existed before. As they understood the importance of the tax, their efforts increased. What started with handwritten letters and signs turned into a video campaign, Tweeting and Instagram. In addition to encouraging members to display their concern through Twitter accounts, the Marketing Committee started a Vine account and Twitter for STAR where members could post their thoughts and pleas.
